Every time a band steps onto a stage, you’re seeing more than just a few hours of entertainment.
Behind every performance are countless unpaid hours spent rehearsing, learning songs, buying equipment, travelling, loading gear, setting up, sound-checking and promoting the event. Most musicians do it because they love music and want to share it with their community.
When we pay bands, we’re recognising the value of their time, talent and dedication.
Many people happily pay $20–$30 to go to the movies, $50+ to watch a football match, or hundreds to see a major concert. Live local music is no different. It is entertainment, and it deserves support.
By supporting venues that pay musicians fairly, you’re helping keep live music alive. You’re creating opportunities for local artists, encouraging original music, and ensuring that future generations can enjoy a vibrant music scene.

Join songwriters Les Thomas, Fleur Wiber, and Jeremy Beggs for an intimate afternoon of music. Representing different stages of life and musical styles, these three artists connect deeply through the power of storytelling, exceptional songwriting, and a friendship born through song.

Anna X Amy Delusional Tour

With special guest: Kris Mizzi
Following the success of two bespoke East Coast tours, Hunter-based singer-songwriters Anna Weatherup and Amy Vee will return in 2026 with a new run of co-headline shows.
Centred around Weatherup’s acclaimed new album Delusional, the tour expands their celebrated collaboration to include a few full-band performances and some special guests, giving audiences fresh opportunities to experience their musical chemistry.
Since first joining forces in 2023, Amy and Anna have won hearts from Melbourne to Townsville with their dynamic, intimate performances. Audiences across the country have praised their synergy as “hauntingly beautiful”, “a class act”, and “pure joy to watch”.
Anna Weatherup rose to national attention through The Voice Australia and has since established a striking identity in the folk-rock world with her album, Crossing the Sea and the more recent release, Delusional.
Amy Vee, an award-winning songwriter blending folk, indie rock, and ambient textures, is renowned for her powerful storytelling and has shared stages with artists including Passenger, Katie Noonan, and The Whitlams.
Audiences can expect a truly immersive musical experience, full of heart and shared magic.
Fandango (ZZ Top Tribute Band)
Melbourne's only tribute band payin' dues to the baddest of the bad, the beer drinkin', hell raisin little ole band from Texas - ZZ Top will be hitting the Painted Lady for the first time on August 8th!
For a night full of great classic hits, which will have you rockin' out & singing along in no time, this is the only place to be.
Fandango is Anthony Biancofiore (Guitar & Vox), Nathan Farrelly (Bass) & Ryan Scoble (Drums). A night full of rockin' hits not to be missed!

Little Bored/Velora
Melbourne’s Little Bored bring their melodic indie rock, driving guitars and heartfelt songwriting to The Painted Lady for the first time.
Having self-released their debut EP “Fever Dream” in 2025, the band have been building momentum with energetic live shows and a sound that balances raw emotion with catchy hooks.
Joining them are Ballarat locals Velora, delivering hometown support with their own powerful alternative rock sound.

Karlo Arcinue /Clark
Karlo Arcinue live at The Painted Lady 1862. With support from Clark.
Karlo Arcinue is a folk singer-songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. His heartfelt and meaningful songs, featuring superb guitar fingerpicking and a calming baritone voice, will transport listeners to the era of 70s folk classics.
He regularly plays gigs in pubs and markets around Melbourne and Regional Victoria, and has performed in some prestigious folk festivals - Maldon Folk Festival 2023 and 2025, Newport Folk Festival 2024, and Newstead Folk Festival 2025
The Damos EP Launch
The Damos are returning to The Painted Lady to launch their new Ep. They have a great line up with Keggin, Dirty Wasabi & Roller Toaster.

Acid Arrow/These Things/Gus Wilde
After honing their chops in every dive bar, saloon and honky tonk in Naarm, sorcerers of twang, Acid Arrow are set to launch their new single “Drop Your Shoulders Down”, a slow-burn crooner that aches as much as it soothes. Riding the knife’s edge between struggle and surrender, the track leans into life’s trials and the quiet strength we all need at times.
A follow up to their psyche drenched debut single "Then it Rains" that received national community radio support from RRR/PBS/4ZZZ/2SER and beyond, Acid Arrow are rollicking around Victoria and the East Coast, with rag-tag band with members borrowed from Cash Savage & the Last Drinks, Eaten By Dogs, The Baudelaires and Orville Brody.
Joining them on the night will be legendary psycho billy fiends These Things and tragedelic troubadour Gus Wilde

Joe Baxter is putting together an exciting line up for a great lot of laughs for our first Comedy Night.

Gravy Train
The Gravy Train band that performs in Ballarat is a popular local blues and roots duo, fronted by musician Darren Weightman (also known as "Gravy").
The Long Road Continues
Jeremy Beggs & The Long Road Travellers are excited to continue the celebrate the release of Jeremy's debut album 'The Long Road' with a show at The Painted Lady 1862 on July 17.
"This is an incredibly moving album. It takes you on a journey through tough times, hopeful times and sad times. It pulls at the heart strings and does what every great album should do – it makes you think and feel." - Totally Biased Fan Review
We'll be playing the album in whole from front to back, then some tracks from the back catalogue as well as introducing a couple of new ones to you.

White Lightning/Jack Meredith
Ballarat, get ready — White Lightning are rolling back into The Painted Lady, and they’re bringing the heat. Sean McConnell and Benny Gerrard fire up that trademark, high‑voltage blues energy that turns a room into a riot.
Opening proceedings on the night will be now local Jack Meredith. With guitar & harmonica in hand, Jack will warm you up with a mix of originals and reworked classics.
Entry is only $10 at the door for a night full of live music. (Ticket sales go directly to the artists)
